This is a GREAT laptop if you don't mind its thickness, although it is considered slim comparing to other 15.6 laptops.I had it for 10 days now. It is super fast & super quiet and the keyboard is super comfortable. The external finish is also stylish with high quality.Its i7-2670QM processor is among the most powerful CPUs in the market now.With an empty RAM slot, we can upgrade the total memory to 8G, which I did and boost the RAM index score to 7.9;The dual Graphic card design is smart, practical but a bit tricky. I found that you can set up the default graphic card for each program in the system. So dual Graphic card means better balance between standby time and performance.There are some pre-loaded softwares. You can remove some of it. But comparing to other computer companies, I'd say ASUS didn't put too much softtrash in its product.The only disadvantage of this product is the relatively low screen resolution. The 15.6 screen can't really display too much stuff... But as my plan is connect it to a external monitor and a TV, it is really a minor thing for me.Compare to my old thinkpad T series, I'd say both laptops are with comparable build quality and the ASUS is much quieter. Plus, ASUS is priced at an affordable point ($400-700 cheaper than a similarly equipped thankpad T).All in all, I highly recommend it to all!

Computer is great.Tossed in an SSD, and was able to boot the computer in about 16 seconds (Fastest computer I have ever used and maxed out the Windows Experience Rating for HD at 7.912.7mm Universal CD/DVD-ROM SATA 2nd HDD caddy for ACER BENQ HP DELL ASUS). Since SSDs are pretty expensive per GB you're probably going to want a 2nd HD. On amazon if you look for a 2nd HD Caddy, you can eliminate your DVD drive and add a 2nd HD instead. You can use the same faceplate that came with the original DVD drive on your new caddy, and you won't even be able to tell that there is a HD in there. Now I have a total of 768GB. In terms of the graphics card, I was able to play the Crisis demo as well as Team Fortress 2 without any hiccups. The specs on this computer are awesome. The only issues I would say there are, are the crappy speakers and webcam. I can live with it though considering I am getting so much more in performance. I'm glad I was able to snag this computer for only $670, especially since the majority of the computers on the market will set you back a lot more in cost, having inferior specs and most likely only integrated graphics.

I have been buying ASUS Motherboards and Video Cards for PC builds for many years and decided to buy this laptop to see if I would be as pleased. I can say that this laptop is AWESOME! I bought a workhorse workstation with a 6 core AMD CPU and all the bells and whistles, yet this 15" laptop SMOKES my workstation! The 2 things I changed on this laptop were upgraded the RAM to 8gb dual channel Corsair (NOT a necessary upgrade, but I did notice a slight improvement) and I also swapped the 640gb 5400RPM HDD for a 128gb SSD HDD which made a HUGE difference in speed, then I got a 2.5" HDD external case and put the 640gb drive in it for a storage drive. AWESOME! Even if you buy it as is and leave it as is, you'll be impressed. LOTSA' power AND USB 3.0! The only things people may not like is there is no eSATA or firewire port, no expansion card bays, and no bluetooth. I won't need the expansion bays, you can buy a tiny bluetooth USB dongle on amazon for cheap, and USB 3.0 is super fast so the lack of eSATA/firewire is not a big deal at all. This laptop also has some cool preloaded software, one program allows it to act as a wireless hotspot for a wifi network. Trust me, I wouldn't steer you wrong! Go for it!!
